Emily Coates teaches and directs the dance studies curriculum at Yale University. A professional dancer for over 20 years, she has danced with New York City Ballet, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Twyla Tharp and Yvonne Rainer. With particle physicist Sarah Demers, she is co-authoring a book on physics and dance, to be published by Yale University Press. She is a Public Voices Fellow with The OpEd Project.
