Emily Lutenski is a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University’s Center for African American Studies. Her teaching and research focus on multiethnic American literature, gender studies, and studies of region and place. She has published academic essays in journals such as MELUS: Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States and Western American Literature, and is currently writing a book that locates modern African American literature in the unexpected geography of the American West—particularly the U.S.-Mexico border region.
