Emily Pothast

Artist. Musician. Content Strategist, Siren

Emily Pothast is a conjurer of ideas, images, sounds and words. As a musician and visual artist, she is the frontwoman of the band Midday Veil, half of the multimedia duo Hair and Space Museum, and co-founder of the experimental record and cassette label Translinguistic Other. As Content Strategist for the female-founded, socially conscious dating app Siren, she facilitates conversations regarding sexuality, self-actualization, empathy and human connection.

Born in rural Iowa, Emily studied philosophy, psychology and art history in Texas before earning an MFA from the University of Washington. In addition to Huffington Post, her writing has appeared in The Stranger, Decoder Magazine and The Establishment.
