Senior Writer, MinnPost

Journalist Eric Black is a senior writer for MinnPost, an online, not-for-profit news site for Minnesotans that focuses on politics and policy, where his work has appeared since January, 2008. He grew up in Newton, Mass., graduated from Oberlin College, reported for two newspapers in Arkansas and then spent 30 years writing for Minneapolis-based Star Tribune, where he specialized in pieces that provided historical context to major national and international issues that were in the news. Black received two fellowships that take journalists out of the newsroom for a year. He spent one of them working as a congressional aide on Capitol Hill, and the other studying history at Stanford University. He has written five books including “Our Constitution: The Myth that Binds us,” “Rethinking the Cold War,” and “Parallel Realities,” about the Arab-Israeli conflict.
