Composer and lyricist for film, television, and theater

Eric Schorr composed the score for Frog Kiss (New York Musical Theater Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, winner of The Global Search for New Musicals).



Other credits include music and lyrics for Young Tom Edison, commissioned by Theatreworks/USA (Town Hall and Promenade Theater in NYC, Kennedy Center, national tour), abd CD recorded by Original Cast Records; music and lyrics for Theatreworks/USA’s The Civil War: The South Carolina Black Regiment (Town Hall, national tour); and music for Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo! (Drama-Desk Award, Actor’s Playhouse, NYC, CD on RCA Victor).



His TV credits include music and lyrics for Discovery Kids; music for Sesame Street.



Eric was also commissioned to write the official Fanfare and Processional Music for The Gay Games, originally performed in Yankee Stadium.



His vocal arrangement credits include The Cider House Rules (Atlantic Theatre Company, Mark Taper Forum, Seattle Repertory Theatre); Wendy Wasserstein’s Uncommon Women & Others (Second Stage); and The Sisters Rosensweig (Broadway).



He was educated at the New England Conservatory, Yale, and Harvard Universities.



His grants and fellowships include the Opera-Musical Theater Grant, National Endowment for the Arts; Japan-United States Arts Program Fellowship, Asian Cultural Council; Anna Sosenko Assist Trust. He has also received numerous awards from ASCAP.
