Eric Tyler

Research Fellow, New America Foundation

Eric Tyler is a research fellow with the New America Foundation and focuses on the intersection of technology, economic development and entrepreneurship. His recent research in India, Kenya and the Philippines has examined the development of financial environments and surrounding products and technologies. He is currently engaged in a range of projects from developing mobile apps to building online networks, and his writing has appeared in print or online on CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Foreign Policy, among other media outlets.

Before joining New America, Mr. Tyler worked at Plan USA, an international NGO working in 48 developing countries. He graduated from Bucknell University, where he double majored in international relations and philosophy, and also studied international relations theory and Spanish at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador.
