Robert P Ericksen

i am the author of "Theologians under Hitler" (Yale U Press, 1985) and of "Complicity in the Holocaust: Churches and Universities in Nazi Germany" (Cambridge U Press, 2012) The first of these books was translated into German, Dutch, and Japanese and made into a documentary film, also called "Theologians under Hitler" (Vitalvisuals.com, 2005), shown on many PBS stations. "Betrayal: German Churches and the Holocaust" is a book I co-edited with Susannah Heschel (Fortress Press, 1999), and I am the author of several dozen articles and chapters on churches and universities in Nazi Germany. I have been on the board of editors of a journal published by Vandenhoek & Ruprecht, "Kirchliche Zeitgeschichte," since its inception in 1988. I am also on the board of editors of "Contemporary Church History Quarterly," an online journal. I retired in May 2015 as Kurt Mayer Chair in Holocaust Studies at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA.
