Author, 'Being Nixon'

Evan Thomas is the author of nine books: The Wise Men (with Walter Isaacson) (1986); The Man to See (1990); The Very Best Men (1993); Robert Kennedy (2000); John Paul Jones (2003); Sea of Thunder (2006); The War Lovers (2010); Ike's Bluff (2012). John Paul Jones and Sea of Thunder were New York Times best sellers (top 15). His biography of Richard Nixon, Being Nixon: A Man Divided, is being published by Random House in June 2015.

Thomas was a writer, correspondent and editor for 33 years at Time and Newsweek, including ten years (1986-1996) as Washington Bureau Chief at Newsweek, where he was editor at large when he retired in 2010. He wrote more than 100 cover stories and in 1999 won a National Magazine award. He wrote Newsweek's 50,000 word election specials in 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008. The 2004 election special issue won a National Magazine Award.

He has appeared on many TV and radio talk shows, including Meet the Press and The Colbert Report. He has appeared on PBS's Charlie Rose more than 40 times. He has written dozens of book reviews for the New York Times and Washington Post.

Thomas has taught writing and journalism at Harvard and Princeton. From 2007 to 2014 he was Ferris Professor of Journalism in Residence at Princeton.
