Fedele Bauccio

CEO, Bon Appétit Management Company

Fedele Bauccio cofounded Bon Appétit Management Company, which provides food service to corporations, universities, and museums in 32 states, in 1987. Fedele and Bon Appétit have revolutionized the food service industry both by introducing fresh, made-from-scratch food to the contract market and by pioneering environmentally and socially responsible practices designed to create a more sustainable food system. Under Fedele’s leadership Bon Appétit has developed programs addressing local purchasing, the overuse of antibiotics, sustainable seafood, the food and climate change connection, humanely raised meat and eggs, and farmworker rights. It is proud to be an early partner and supporter of the Food Recovery Network in addition to its other longstanding food-waste reduction efforts. Fedele’s work has been honored by many nonprofit and industry groups. In 2014, he won the EY Entrepreneur National Of The Year™ 2014 Award in the Retail and Consumer Products category. Previously, he has received the International Association of Culinary Professionals’ Lifetime Achievement Award; one of the James Beard Foundation’s inaugural Leadership Awards, along with First Lady Michelle Obama and eight others; Chefs Collaborative’s Sustainability Pathfinder; the Natural Resources Defense Council’s first Going Green Award recipient; and Seafood Choices Alliance’s Seafood Champion.
