Roman Catholic Priest, Trappist Family Brother
W. Paul Jones is a person who bridges diverse worlds. He was a United Methodist minister for over 40 years, and has been a Roman Catholic priest for 11 years. He was born in a coal-mining town in Appalachia, and has four degrees, including three from Yale. He is a Trappist Family Brother at a monastery in the Ozarks, spending part of his time as a hermit at the Hermitage Spiritual Retreat Center and offering spiritual direction. He has taught at Yale, Princeton, and St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City. His present social justice emphasis is on abolishing the death penalty. He is a widely published author, having written twelve books, including "Theological Worlds," "The Art of
Spiritual Direction," and "An Eclectic Almanac for the Faithful."
