Franklin Schargel

Former Teacher, School Counselor and School Administrator

Franklin P. Schargel is a former classroom teacher, school counselor and school administrator who implemented an improvement process for his inner-city school which dramatically increased parental involvement, increased post-secondary school attendance and significantly lowered the dropout rate. Mr. Schargel is an internationally recognized speaker and author of eleven books and over 100 published articles dealing with school reform and dropout prevention. He has delivered workshops dealing with dropout prevention, leadership, in forty-nine states and nine countries. The U.S. Department of Education, Business Week, Fortune Magazine, National Public Radio (NPR), Public Broadcasting System (PBS) and The New York Times have recognized Mr. Schargel’s work. He has received the Crystal Star Award from the National Dropout Prevention Center for Dropout Recovery, Intervention and Prevention as well as being recognized by the International Association for Intervention and Dropout Prevention.
