Gabriel Ledeen

Gabe is a former U.S. Marine Captain and two tour veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Gabriel Ledeen deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006 and in 2007-2008 to the areas of Haditha and Karma in al Anbar province with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. In 2006, 2ndLt Ledeen served as a convoy commander and the Battalion's Motor Transport platoon leader. In 2007-2008, 1stLt Ledeen worked extensively with local Iraqis and Marine Corps and Army Civil Affairs personnel and helped build the institutional understanding necessary for continued local progress. Since leaving active duty as a Captain, he has traveled to Egypt, Israel, Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, and Venezuela to seek accurate firsthand information. His articles have appeared in a number of publications such as the Washington Times, Jerusalem Post, National Review, and others. Gabriel graduated cum laude from Rice University with a B.A. in Cognitive Science and Philosophy, and is currently pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School.
