Gail Reiss

President and CEO, American Friends of Tel Aviv University

Gail Reiss is the President & CEO of American Friends of Tel Aviv University (AFTAU), a national non-profit organization supporting Israel’s leading, most comprehensive and most sought-after center of higher learning. Ms. Reiss spearheads the organization’s development strategy and operations, leading staff in regional offices in New York, California and Florida.



Prior to joining AFTAU, Ms. Reiss served as Vice President, Philanthropic Leadership Group with UJA-Federation of New York where she developed and implemented strategic approaches, including missions and donor-recognition programs, to engage and cultivate current and prospective major donors. She previously held executive positions in donor and resource development with other organizations, including 13 years with United Jewish Communities as well as work with United Jewish Appeal-Federation. She began her career in the non-profit sector at the United States Committee for UNICEF.



Ms. Reiss holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a non-for-profit management certificate from the Columbia Business School. She received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.



A White Plains resident, Ms. Reiss is married and has three children.
