Chrissie Ferguson

freelance writer, middle school English teacher, Pearl Jam fan, and mother of 3 boys

My name is Chrissie Ferguson, and I'm a freelance writer for various publications - including HuffPost, South Florida Parenting, The Boynton Forum (The Sun Sentinel), M&V (Muses & Visionaries) Magazine and Good News Florida. I also enjoy writing children's picture books and am an active member of the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Ilustrators). While writing is one of my greatest passions in life, I also love teaching middle school language arts and am about to begin my 14th year working with children. Following the band - Pearl Jam - has also been a great passion of mine for many years. The band has brought me and my husband to many amazing places around the world. And thanks to Pearl Jam and the Global Citizen's festival, I have now become passionate about working with the poor in Haiti through Food for the Poor (see my article in Huff Post-"A Call to Action"). Last, but not least, the most rewarding role I play is that of wife and mother. I love spending as much time as possible with my amazing husband and three young, sweet, and very active boys.
