Gershon Hepner

Physician and poet

Gershon Hepner is a physician who was born in Leipzig in 1938 and educated in England, to which his parents brought him 3 days before the outbreak of WWII. He has worked as a doctor since 1963, and until 1980 combined clinical practice and medical research with playing the first violin in a string quartet. Living in LA since 1976, he now combines the practice of medicine with the writing of poetry, which is mainly unpublished, and research on the Hebrew Bible, much of which has been published in scholarly journals.
