Maris Jones is an unapologetically Blacktivist scholar and creator hailing from New Orleans, LA. She recently graduated from Brown University with a degree in Anthropology and Portuguese & Brazilian Studies. Affectionately known by her friends as “The Future Dr. Jones,” Maris is constantly engaged in the process of decolonizing her mind. Nothing infuriates her more than institutionalized racism and structural inequality. When not writing on Black, environmental, or intersectional feminist issues, you can find her cooking Louisiana comfort food, grooving to Chance the Rapper, or conversing in one of five languages.
