Greg Taylor

President & CEO, Foundation for Newark’s Future

Greg Taylor is a nationally recognized education reform leader and community advocate. As president & CEO of the Foundation for Newark’s Future (FNF), he works to develop, implement and scale innovative education strategies designed to dramatically improve learning outcomes for Newark’s children.

Greg was excited to join FNF after eight years at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, where he led the organization’s Education and Learning and Family Economic Security portfolios. One of his major successes in this role was as National Director of SPARK (“Support Partnership to Assure Ready Kids”) Initiative, which prepares young children to enter school ready to learn. The program has been implemented in eight states and twenty communities and to date has helped 8,000 at-risk children make gains in reading and math.

Prior to joining the Kellogg Foundation, Greg served as Senior Director and Chief Program Officer at the Fannie Mae Foundation in Washington D.C., where he created and implemented successful programs and grants in Youth Development, Housing and Community Development, and Economic Development.

Greg began his career in Washington, D.C., serving as executive director and program manager at Community IMPACT!, where he directed organizational growth through partnerships with the public schools, federal government, and business. Greg expanded Community IMPACT! services by over 50 percent, significantly transforming several of the District’s Wards.

Greg has also worked with the Center for Youth Development and Policy Research in Washington and the Manhattan Valley Youth Program in New York.

Greg earned a J.D. from the Bloomington School of Law at Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in political science and urban affairs from Hunter College, City University of New York.
