Reverend Gwen Thomas is an avowed Liberation Theologian and Womanist. She is ordained by the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries and the United Church of Christ. Gwen serves as an associate minister at Rehoboth Fellowship Atlanta UCC. At Rehoboth, Gwen is a part of the Worship Planning Team. She also facilitates leadership development training. Additionally, Gwen is the Conference Moderator and ONA (Open and Affirming) consultant for the Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. At the national level of the denomination Gwen is a part of the leadership team for UCAN (The United Church of Christ HIV/AIDS Network). Gwen is also on the governing board of two womanist/ feminist organizations: WomanPreach! Inc and Women Healing Women, Inc. Gwen is a member of the African American Working Group for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Creating Change Conference. Outside of faith-based work and activism, Gwen is a speaker, consultant and writer. She presents various professional development and personal growth topics. She has provided training and motivational speaking throughout the United States, in the Caribbean and six other countries; including Australia and New Zealand. . She is the author of a book called The S.H.E. Experience and is a regular blogger for the Huffington Post. She has a Masters of Education Degree in Adult Education and Development and a Certificate of Theology. She has one adult son, a daughter-in-love. and four grandchildren.
