Hector Luis Bustamante

Hector Luis Bustamante is one of the most determined and impassioned actors working in Hollywood today. With over forty television and film credits including hit series Bones and 24 (FOX), Southland (TNT), The Shield (FX), Without A Trace (CBS), Heroes (NBC), Monk (USA), the films Hostage (Miramax) opposite Bruce Willis, and Sueño (Sony), with John Leguizamo, Bustamante has become a name that inspires many. His television and film work has garnered numerous awards and recognitions, most recently Bustamante was awarded the 'Best Actor' Award from the Imagen Foundation, for his compelling portrayal of 'Pedro Vera' in Lifetime Movie Network’s original feature “Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story” and in 2008 he was awarded the ‘Break through Actor Award of the Year’ from the Hollywood F.A.M.E Awards.

Currently, Bustamante is the creator and star of the new military web-series "Caribe Road". The show is dedicated to all the brave military men and women, and their families, who have sacrificed so much for us.

Born in Medellin, Colombia, Bustamante and his family moved to the United States at the age of 12. He began to act in school plays but was discouraged at being told his accent would never allow him to be a professional actor. Bustamante's childhood dream of becoming an actor never went away. In 2000, Bustamante made the decision to enroll in acting classes at the Shelton's Actors' Studio in San Francisco, where he studied under the watchful eye of acting coach and mentor Jean Shelton. In 2002 Bustamante's return to acting was cemented when got his first major television role, appearing on the CBS drama series "The Agency," playing the head of the Colombian police. In 2003 Bustamante moved to Los Angeles and two years later he broke onto the movie scene as one of Bruce Willis' police officers in the film “Hostage” for Miramax.

Bustamante is currently an ambassador for a number of organizations in the Los Angeles area that provide year-round opportunities for children faced with physically challenges. Bustamante continues to pave the way, show strength of spirit, as a positive voice and role-model for the current generation of young Hispanic/Latino American actors.
