Holly Dagres

Holly Dagres is an Iranian-American analyst and commentator on Middle East affairs, with a specialization on Iran. Currently based in Jerusalem, she is the curator for the weekly newsletter, The Iranist. She is also the contributing editor for the quarterly policy journal, the Cairo Review of Global Affairs. Holly regularly conducts interviews on radio and television, including ABC News, BBC Radio, Fox News, Global Post, NBC News, NPR, Sky News, TIME, The Guardian, and Vogue, among others. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Al Jazeera, Al-Monitor, Atlantic Council, Buzzfeed, Foreign Policy, the Huffington Post, and Voice of America. Holly has been interviewed in Persian (Farsi) as well. Holly's degrees include a master’s in political science from the American University in Cairo and a bachelor's in political science and French from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is currently a member of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) and the Iranian American Women’s Foundation (IAWF). Born in Los Angeles to an Iranian immigrant mother and American father, Holly spent her adolescent years in Iran, from 1999 to 2006, during which time she graduated from Tehran International School.
