Iranian journalist and pro-democracy political activist currently incarcerated in Evin Prison
Hossein Noorani Nejad is an Iranian journalist, pro-democracy political activist and renowned member of the prominent reformist Mosharekat party who was incarcerated for his political activities in 2014. Amnesty International has designated him a prisoner of conscience. He had been arrested and imprisoned for one year in 2009 for his involvement in the Green Movement and left Iran to study abroad afterwards. He returned to Iran in 2014 and was imprisoned again for his pro-reform political activities.
