Ian Ference is a photographer, historian, and essayist based out of New York. For over a decade, he has studied America's modern ruins, with a focus on demystifying institutional abandonments. He sporadically publishes photoessays on historic structures on his blog, The Kingston Lounge, and has written and spoken on a variety of topics peripheral to this body of work.
