Ian R. MacDonald, Professor of Oceanography, Florida State University (imacdonald@fsu.edu) has spent over twenty five years researching the natural sources of oil and gas in the ocean and the environmental impacts of offshore energy production. Together with John Amos, MacDonald was the first scientist who publically challenged the official rates of discharge from the Deepwater Horizon Blowout in April 2010.
