Iginio Gagliardone is Research Fellow at the Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy (PCMLP) at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the role old and new media play in development and political participation. He recently started exploring how emerging powers such as China may be promoting alternative conceptions of the Internet in Africa.
Iginio previously worked for UNESCO in Addis Ababa, coordinating programs for the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for development, and for the Stanhope Centre for Communication Policy Research. He also reguarly collaborates with the Centre of Governance and Human Rights at the University of Cambridge and of Centre for Global Communication Studies at the Annenberg School of Communication, University of Pennsylvania.
