Ignacio "Iggy" Balderas

CEO, Triple Canopy

As CEO of Triple Canopy, Iggy is responsible for setting the company's strategic direction and brings more than 30 years of organizational, management and military experience to the position.

Iggy is also a member of Triple Canopy's board of directors and is responsible for overseeing the company's diversification initiatives, insuring compliance and developing key corporate alliances and customers. Prior to joining the board, Iggy served his first term as CEO from 2004 to 2005 during which he was instrumental in growing the company and positioning it as a leading provider of security solutions worldwide. Iggy had previously held the position of director of operations.

Iggy has over two decades of experience in Special Forces units, including service with the U.S. Army's 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (Delta Force). As Command Sergeant Major for Delta Force, Iggy was responsible to the National Command Authority for leadership, training, mentorship and implementation of policies and procedures for the U.S. military's most elite unit. He served as the subject matter expert on operational matters and command representative on military policy boards. He was responsible for hiring and firing every enlisted member in the unit. He conducted briefings for the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense and other four-star flag officers. He supervised the construction of one of the first military compounds on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, in January 2002. He also filled in as a forward-deployed detachment commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Iggy has participated in multiple U.S. military combat operations over the last 20 years. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge with second award, Defense Superior Service Medal, two Bronze Stars and four Defense Meritorious Service Medals.
