Ira Rubenzahl is president of Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, Massachusetts. A graduate of Princeton University and M.I.T., Rubenzahl has been a farm laborer, laboratory technician, landscaper, science researcher, community organizer, union leader, college mathematics and physics instructor and academic administrator. Passionate about social justice, he believes that community colleges offer one of the few avenues for people of modest means to advance economically.
