Dr. Mann is a hypertension specialist at NYPresbyterian - Weill Cornell Medicine. He has published over 75 scientific articles, several book chapters, and has lectured widely, while having a large practice devoted to patients with hard-to-treat hypertension. He is also author of 2 books: Healing Hypertension: A Revolutionary New Approach, which offers a very different understanding of the mind/body connection in hypertension. His second book, Hypertension and You: Old Drugs, New Drugs, and the Right Drugs for Your High Blood Pressure, also written for the layman, explains how we actually have all the drugs we need to bring hypertension under control in almost everyone; the problem is that physicians often are not prescribing them well enough, and are not finding the medication that is right for the individual patient. The book presents to the layman, in understandable language what they need to know about the medications to understand what treatment is right for them.
