Iyad El-Baghdadi

Writer; Arab Spring activist

Iyad El-Baghdadi is a writer, business consultant and Arab Spring activist. Born and raised in the Arab world, he was forcibly exiled by the United Arab Emirates in 2014 for his pro-democracy activism. He now lives in Norway as a political refugee.

Iyad's work is focused on what he calls "the indigenization of liberty" in the Arab world; when he's not being mistaken for the leader of ISIS, he is researching radicalization and working on " The Arab Spring Manifesto," in which he details his vision for an Islamic libertarianism.
