Jacob Fenton is a freelance journalist in Portland, Oregon. From 2015-16, he was a John S. Knight journalism fellow at Stanford University. He previously covered campaign finance for The Sunlight Foundation and was the director of computer assisted reporting at the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University. He's worked on investigations and editorial technology with The New York Times, FRONTLINE, MSNBC.com, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, Marketplace (from American Public Media) and others. He began his career as a newspaper reporter in the Philadelphia suburbs.
