Ronald G. Gill, PhD is the President of the American Society of Transplantation (AST). He is currently Professor of Surgery and Immunology at the University of Colorado Denver. His research focuses on nature of immune-mediated injury and tolerance induction to tissue and organ transplants. The primary research activity that Dr. Gill focuses on has been in the area pancreatic islet transplantation as a treatment for insulin-dependent diabetes. Dr. Gill received his PhD in basic immunology at UCLA and performed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes.
