James P. Pellow, Ed.D.

James P. Pellow, Ed.D., is president and CEO of CIEE, Council on International Educational Exchange, the oldest and largest nonprofit study abroad and cultural exchange organization in the US. He is committed to improving access to international education and exchange programs, with a focus on reducing the barriers of cost, curriculum, and culture. The diversity of CIEE’s program participants has grown 44 percent over the four years he has been in the position. Jim previously spent 20 years in several leadership positions at St. John’s University, New York, where he helped transform a historically commuter school to an international university.
