JANIS ABRAHMS SPRING, PH.D., ABPP, is a nationally acclaimed expert on issues of trust, intimacy and forgiveness. She is author of the award winning books, After the Affair: Healing the Pain and Rebuilding Trust When a Partner Has Been Unfaithful (HarperCollins, 1997); How Can I Forgive You? The Courage to Forgive, The Freedom Not To (HarperCollins, 2005) and Life with Pop: Lessons on Caring for an Aging Parent (Avery Penguin, 2010). In private practice in Westport, Connecticut, for over 35 years, she is a board certified clinical psychologist and a recipient of the Connecticut Psychological Association’s award for Distinguished Contribution to the Practice of Psychology. Dr. Spring trains thousands of therapists each year; presents regularly at venues such as Kripalu Institute, Harvard’s Educational Conferences, and the Ackerman Institute; and frequently serves as a media guest on programs such as Good Morning America and NPR.
