By day, Jason Mendelson sits at a computer and puts numbers into little boxes, but as evening descends, he can be found all over the Washington, D.C. area, rocking out with electric twelve-string guitars, funky vintage synthesizers, and booming basses, from spots as varied as the hallowed stages of the Kennedy Center and 9:30 Club, to delightfully dank favorites like IOTA Club & Cafe, Wonderland Ballroom, and Galaxy Hut, or even his own recording studio An Undisclosed Location, responsible for local releases by Jonny Grave & the Tombstones, Alex Parez & the Hell Rojos, The Lucky So & So's, The Iris Bell, The Clara Barton Sessions, Fellowcraft, questionsinletters, and of course Jason's own 6-year, 8-album, 91-song opus, MetroSongs, with a unique, original song for each of the area's Metro station locations, based on local history, geography, and characters. Jason was born in Tampa, Florida in the deep, dark seventies, and made sure not to leave until his brain was fully cooked by the heat and humidity about thirty years later. He, his wife and two cute little kitties reside in Alexandria, Virginia.
