Araya Baker

Araya Baker is a counselor, suicidologist and policy analyst. Formerly, Baker served as an Equity & Inclusion Fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he earned an Ed.M. in human development and psychology. He also holds an M.Phil.Ed. in professional counseling from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Prior to graduate school, Baker worked with The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK), The Trevor Project, and Mental Health America of Greater Houston, where he assisted with authoring the City of Houston’s inaugural city-wide mental health survey. Baker has published commentary and public scholarship in The New York Times, The Washington Post's The Lily, Teen Vogue, Psychology Today, Education Post, The Tennessean, Vice, BuzzFeed, The Good Men Project, The Mighty, and other platforms.
