Chief of Critical Care Medicine, Boston Children's Hospital

Dr. Jeffrey Burns completed his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. He also holds a Master’s Degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Burns serves as the Chief of Critical Care Medicine and is the first Chair of Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Burns’ research has focused in two domains: ethics controversies and educational innovation in pediatric intensive care, and most recently has launched OPENPediatrics, the first global internet-based knowledge exchange platform for physicians and nurses caring for critically ill children. Dr. Burns has been invited as Visiting Professor and lectured in South America, Europe, South Africa, and Asia.
