Jennifer Sherwood

Policy Associate, amfAR the Foundation for AIDS Research

Jennifer Sherwood currently works as a Policy Associate at amfAR. She dedicates time to developing policy briefs on the distinct needs of women in the HIV epidemic. Before coming to amfAR, Jennifer completed her MSPH from Johns Hopkins University in the department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health. She has worked in Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso, in collaboration with local ministries of health, on a study aiming to understand the social and structural factors related to STIs/HIV. Jennifer has worked as a youth violence prevention coordinator in Central Florida as well as trained as a court advocate for survivors of violence seeking legal protection. Her research interests include the health impact and prevention of gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and HIV.
