Jennifer Wright Knust

Professor, writer, Bible scholar, and historian of religion

Jennifer Knust is a professor of Religion at Boston University. She teaches courses on the New Testament, Christian history, women and religion, Jesus and the movement he founded. Author of Unprotected Texts: The Bible's Surprising Contradictions about Sex and Desire and an editor of the Routledge Dictionary of Ancient Mediterranean Religions, she studies the transmission of biblical texts, ancient rhetoric, and the reception of the Gospels among the earliest Christians. An ordained American Baptist pastor, she is a member of the First Baptist Church of Jamaica Plain.
