Jeremy Manier is the Senior Science Reporter at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is also editor of the blog Science Life, at http://sciencelife.uchospitals.edu.

He is a former science and medical reporter for the Chicago Tribune, where he worked from 1997 until 2008. Much of his work has concerned the ethical and cultural implications of new research, including developments in genetics, neuroscience, cancer treatment, stem cells, organ transplants, astronomy, childhood development, obesity and evolution. He has received numerous journalism awards, including a 2006 Peter Lisagor award for in-depth reporting.

At UCMC, Manier's focus is developing new Internet forums for
conversations about science and medicine.
