Jeremy Markman

LGBT activist working in the labor movement. Writes about issues pertaining to politics, social justice, healthcare, and income inequality.

Jeremy has been an LGBT activist since high school. He has volunteered and has held internship positions at organizations such as Gay Men's Health Crises, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Empire State Pride Agenda and the Brooklyn Community Pride Center. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from NYU and a Master’s in Public Administration from Rutgers University. After graduating NYU, Jeremy worked as an organizer for New York State United Teachers. He continued to get involved in whatever LGBT equality activities/marches he could. In 2012 he worked for President Obama's re-election campaign as the LGBT Outreach Director for New York State. In 2013 he had the honor of assisting Edie Windsor, two months before the Windsor v. United States Supreme Court decision came down. He currently works in the labor movement and is interested in lending his voice to issues around politics, social justice, healthcare, and income inequality.
