Jessica Nutik Zitter is a Bay Area physician who is board certified in both Critical Care and Palliative Care medicine. She works at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California and is an assistant clinical professor at University of California, San Francisco. She is co-founder of Vital Decisions, a counseling service that helps patients and their families make decisions about their end of life medical care. Her work has been published in the New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Atlantic Monthly, Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Journal of Palliative Medicine, among others.
She is working on her first book, an account of her experiences as an ICU doctor who also practices Palliative Care. It will be published by Penguin-Random House in late 2016.
