Dr. Jim Taylor

Sport psychologist, parenting expert, professor, author, speaker, elite athlete

Jim Taylor, Ph.D., is an internationally authority on the psychology of sport and parenting. The author of 15 books and the editor of three textbooks, Jim has worked with professional, Olympic, collegiate, and junior-elite athletes around the world. Jim received his Bachelor's degree from Middlebury College and earned his Master's degree and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Colorado. He was an associate professor in the School of Psychology at Nova University in Ft. Lauderdale. Dr. Taylor is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco. A former alpine ski racer who held a top-20 national ranking and competed internationally, Jim is a certified tennis coach, a 2nd degree black belt and certified instructor in karate, a marathon runner, and an Ironman triathlete.
