Writer and political activist. Former US Senate candidate.

Jim is a writer and political activist. He was the second openly-gay person in history to run for the US Senate, finishing second in the Democratic primary in NC (2008). He has been a guest on CNBC, NPR, NBC, ABC, FOX, Channel One (Britain) and ORF (Austria) and is a contributor to numerous publications including The Daily Beast and HuffPost. He is writing a collection of short stories based upon his encounters with the famous and powerful, to be followed by a multimedia project contrasting the quality of life in the free-market obsessed US and socialist France. Jim has served on numerous boards including The New School, The Alliance for the Arts, and the Center for LGBTQ Studies at City University of New York. He splits his time between Brooklyn and Paris.
