Author, Democracy's Big Day: The Inauguration of Our President, 1789-2013

Jim Bendat is the leading expert on US presidential inauguration history. His works have appeared in the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, San Francisco Chronicle and The New Republic. He has been featured as an inaugural historian at the ceremonies of the three most recent presidents, for MSNBC, British networks ITN and Sky News, and for CNN, and he has been interviewed as an expert by all of the major networks. On January 28, 2009, Democracy's Big Day was featured on the front page of the New York Times. Bendat and his wife, Marilyn, live in Los Angeles. They have three grown children.
