Joan Fitz-Gerald is the president of America Votes. Raised in New York City by a single mother, Joan attended Marymount Manhattan College on scholarships. She graduated with a dual degree in political science and history. She moved to Colorado with her family in 1977 and is the former President of the Colorado State Senate. To date, Joan is the only woman ever to hold that title.
