Joe DiSano

Long-time veteran of Michigan politics

DiSano is a long-time veteran of Michigan politics and has experience in races across the United States. Before establishing Message Design Group, DiSano served in various key staff positions for the Michigan House Democrats and Congressman John Dingell.

In 2002, Message Design Group was retained by the Michigan House Democratic Fund to create and design direct mail for House races across Michigan. Additionally, DiSano was active in Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s 2001 campaign where he co-authored the field plan and contributed to the direct mail program.

DiSano was the manager of Michigan State Representative George Mans’ 1996 campaign and was lead strategist on Doug Spade’s 1998 long shot race for the Michigan House of Representatives. Spade went on to become the first Democratic House member from Lenawee County since World War I.
Since forming Main Street Strategies in 2006, DiSano has been directed campaigns for Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, Warren City Clerk Paul Wojno and Mark Liss' come from behind campaign for Warren City Council. Recently, DiSano has designed campaign communications for Wayne County Commissioner Burton Leland, State Representatives Lisa Wojno, Steve Bieda, Hoon-Yung Hopgood, Gabe Leland, Bill McConico, Burt Johnson and State Senators Buzz Thomas, Gilda Jacobs and Dennis Olshove.

Recent clients of Main Street Strategies include Michigan AFL-CIO, Michigan Democratic Party, 
Michigan House Democratic Fund, National Popular Vote, Oakland County Democratic Commissioners Caucus, Operating Engineers Local 325, Planned Parenthood of Michigan, Progress Michigan, Service Employees International Union and United Food and Commercial Workers.
In 2011, DiSano was named one of the most influential Democrats in Michigan. He has been featured in the Macomb Daily, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, Michigan Public Radio, Bloomberg News, Gongwer News Service, MIRS, WKAR’s Off the Record and WDIV-TV’s State of the State coverage.

DiSano lives in Potterville, Michigan with his wife and young son.
