Joe Karaganis is vice president at The American Assembly at Columbia University. His research focuses on the relationship between digital convergence and cultural production, and most recently includes Media Piracy in Emerging Economies (2011), the first large-scale independent study of these issues in developing countries. Prior to 2011, Karaganis was a program director at the Social Science Research Council. His personal site is here.
