Tony Award® nominated, film and television actor Joe Morton stars as the elusive and covert ‘Rowan’ father to DC fixer and crisis manager ‘Olivia Pope,’ (Kerry Washington) on the critically acclaimed hit ABC drama series SCANDAL. As the breakout star of Season 2, ‘Rowan’ left viewers stunned at the revelation of his parental lineage to Olivia and loyal gladiator fans everywhere have continued to wonder #WHOISROWAN? The shocking season finale had fans gasping in record numbers for the ABC drama as the series pulled in an impressive 9.1 million viewers. Season 3 premiered to 10.5 million viewers and picks up from the scandal that ensues when it becomes known that ‘Olivia’ and ‘President Fitzgerald Grant’ (Tony Goldwyn) are having an affair and the woman who was always known for “wearing the white hat” for others now attempts to clear her own name while continuing to lead her gladiators. <br> <br> Morton is widely recognized for his role on the long running Emmy® nominated SyFy series “Eureka” as jack-of-all-trades scientist “Henry Deacon” and as Peter Florrick’s (Chris Noth) attorney ‘Daniel Golden’ on CBS’s “The Good Wife”. Additional TV projects include ‘White Collar,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “House,” “Warehouse 13” and “A Different World,” among many others. Morton has also starred in a number of hit films such as TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY, AMERICAN GANGSTER, ALI, WHAT LIES BENETH, THE ASTRONAUT’S WIFE, BLUES BROTHERS 2000 and SPEED. <br> Born in Harlem, Morton was raised in a military family and spent parts of his childhood in West Germany and Okinawa before finishing school in New York. After attending Hofstra University, Morton made his way through the Broadway circuit before making his stage debut in the Tony® award winning musical “Hair”, leading to his starring role in “Raisin,” the Tony® award winning musical theatre adaptation of the acclaimed Lorraine Hansberry play ‘A Raisin in the Sun.’ For his role as the embittered ‘Walter Lee Younger,’ Morton garnered a Tony nomination for ‘Lead Actor in a Musical.’ <br> <br> In his rare free time, Morton devotes time to his family, writing and recording music, for which he has written and scored a multitude of songs for his various film and television projects in addition to being an avid photographer.
