A New York native, John Jeffcoat graduated from Ohio's Denison University in 1994, and later relocated to Seattle, WA where he has worked in the film industry as a writer, director, producer, cinematographer, and editor. Jeffcoat's feature-length directorial debut, OUTSOURCED, which he co-wrote with George Wing (50 First Dates) and stars Josh Hamilton (Kicking and Screaming, Coast of Utopia) and Ayesha Dharker (The Terrorist, Bombay Dreams) will receive an exclusive theatrical release starting September 28th, 2007.
Currently, Mr. Jeffcoat and co-writer Wing are developing a half-hour comedy for NBC, based on Outsourced. Also in production is Jeffcoat's feature-length documentary on the world's largest film industry, in Bombay, India –"Bollywood and me." 1999's "Bingo! the documentary" (Seventh Art Releasing) marked his debut as a feature documentary director.
Jeffcoat has won awards from the likes of Matt Groening (Creator of "the Simpsons"), The John Schlesinger Award for Outstanding First Feature at the Palm Springs Film Festival, and the Golden Space Needle for Audience favorite at the Seattle International Film Festival. in 1995 Jeffcoat helped launch The Northwest Film Forum, the regions first and only non-profit center for the film arts, serving as a founding board member and later as Vice-president.
