Councilmember, City of Beverly Hills
John Mirisch, just having completed his second term as Mayor on the Beverly Hills City Council, was elected in March 2017 to his third term on the Beverly Hills City Council. John has the distinction of being the first Swedish citizen, as well as the first Canadian citizen to ever serve on the Council. John grew up in Beverly Hills as a 4th generation resident, having graduated from both Hawthorne and Beverly Hills High School. Working in international film distribution, John lived in Europe for over 20 years, where he regularly took the subway to work in such cities as Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Munich and his other home town, Stockholm. In his first term as Mayor, John created the Sunshine Task Force to increase transparency and public participation in local government. He is currently spearheading the Beverly Hills City Council's first-in-the-nation initiative to develop and deploy a municipal autonomous shuttle system for the City's local transportation needs.
