John Silvanus Wilson, Jr. now serves as the 11th president of Morehouse College, the nation’s only private, liberal arts institution dedicated to the education of African American males. Previously, he served as the executive director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities under President Barack Obama, as well as on the senior management teams at MIT and at the George Washington University. Dr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College, as well as two master’s degrees in theological studies and education, and a doctorate in education from Harvard University.
